Indian government sponsoring persecution of Kashmiri Muslims in IOJK – Masood Khan

Former President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan today called on President AJK Sardar Masood Khan here at Jammu and Kashmir House. Both leaders discussed in detail the situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and strongly condemned the indiscriminate use of live ammunition and pellet-firing shotguns on the peaceful mourners of the Muharram procession in Srinagar. They said that this cowardly act speaks volumes of the religious persecution taking place under the watch of the so-called secular government of India.
While discussing the nefarious moves of the Indian government, both the current and former President censured the grant of Kashmiri domiciles to over 500,000 non-Hindus from all over India. They said that through this step the exclusive rights to livelihood, acquisition of property, employment and educational scholarships would be granted to non-Kashmiri Hindus. This, they said, was a violation of international laws, major conventions and the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.
President Masood Khan said that the people of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan will continue their efforts to help release the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. He said that AJK as the base camp of the freedom struggle should further widen its reach and leverage the strengths of the diaspora community to transform the Kashmiri freedom struggle into a worldwide movement.
The two leaders expressed the need to enhance infrastructure and construction in all of AJK to help revolutionize the economic landscape of the liberated territory. They said due to the high rate of education and low crime rate, AJK presents a very conducive and encouraging environment for foreign investors.
Sardar Yaqoob informed the President that work on the much needed Chota Gala campus of Poonch University Rawalakot has yet to begin. The President said that in the matter has been taken up with the high-ups of the Economics Affairs Division and the Higher Education Commission, and work on the project will soon be initiated.
During the meeting, they discussed the need to provide advanced training for skill development to the youth. President Masood said that the youth of AJK should be prepared for leadership roles in all fields and be trained to face modern challenges at both the national and international level.
